Job Summary
Retirement Plan Advisor leading as the primary relationship contact for retirement plan clients in NY (Rochester, Buffalo, or Syracuse). Build and maintain relationships with plan sponsors, retirement committees, and participants; provide fiduciary guidance, plan design recommendations, investment oversight, and participant education. Manage a portfolio of retirement plan clients, conduct client review meetings, and coordinate compliance and annual notices. Deliver education sessions, support onboarding/conversions, and work with third-party administrators to ensure seamless plan administration. Leverage expertise in retirement plan regulations and fiduciary matters to inform strategic solutions and identify opportunities to expand advisory services.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- 5+ years of experience within retirement plan consulting, relationship management, fiduciary advisory, or retirement plan administration
- Strong knowledge of 401(k), 403(b), and qualified retirement plans
- Experience advising plan sponsors and retirement plan committees on fiduciary and plan design matters
- FINRA Series 65 license, preferred
- CPFA and/or QKA designations, strongly preferred
- Strong presentation, communication, and relationship management skills
- Ability to navigate complex client situations and provide thoughtful, consultative solutions
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Collaborative, proactive, and client-service oriented mindset
- High degree of interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and departments
