Job Summary
Conduct daily stall cleaning, grooming, bathing, and braiding for the owner's herd of ponies and dressage horses. Manage feeding and watering schedules, maintain pastures and stable upkeep, and assist with facility maintenance including mowing. Perform nightly checks between 8pm and 10pm for three to five days weekly. Caring for horses, property, and facility to the highest standards while working alongside the Barn Manager and other grooms in a structured, respectful atmosphere. This live-in or live-out role offers a 5-day work week with housing included for live-in positions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years experience in a professional equestrian environment
- Able to lift 50+ lbs
- Long-term commitment is a MUST
- Positive, and self-starting attitude required
- Night check 3-5 days per week between 8pm-10pm
- 5 day work week (1 weekend day required)
- Hours are 8am-5pm
- Live-in or live-out opportunity
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience show grooming, preferably in the dressage industry or at a high end breeding facility strongly favored
- Able to do a running braid in mane and dressage braids (or willing to learn)
- Able to recognize any signs of distress
- Willing to learn and take direction on unique care for each horse from farm owner
- Running braids preferred
