Job Summary
Full-time Flex Houseparents (two-person married couple) reside in on-campus student homes at Milton Hershey School to supervise and mentor 8–13 students, manage household routines, administer medications, transport students to activities, plan developmental and recreational activities, lead daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, oversee budgeting and reporting, and progress toward the Placed Houseparent role by living and working with the same student group. Schedule starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off; includes transition to a fixed home assignment. Benefits include salary per person, comprehensive insurance, retirement options, paid training, relocation assistance, and housing/meal provisions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Two-spouse requirement: both spouses must complete individual employment applications
- Couples must be legally married for at least two years
- Age 27 or older for both spouses
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; role-model behavior for students
- willingness to relocate to on-campus housing (relocation assistance provided)
