Job Summary
Retina Technician in Training focused on Retina Ophthalmology duties. Learn ocular anatomy/physiology, terminology, and OCTs; shadow experienced retina technicians; navigate EHR/NexGen; perform patient prep for intraocular injections; assist with IOPs, EOMs, pupils, dilating drops, and other eye-care tasks. Emphasizes collaboration with physicians and coworkers, patient communication, professional conduct as an EH N representative, and delivering high-quality patient care and customer service. Requires high school diploma or equivalent; 1 year of retina technician experience preferred; includes training on NextGen EMR, aseptic technique, and flexible work hours including evenings/weekends. Must be able to rotate to multiple worksites and work in a general medical office environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year experience as a Retina Technician (preferred)
- Solid computer skills with proficiency in Electronic Medical Records systems; NextGen preferred
- Knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, pathology, and terminology
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
