Job Summary
Perform Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Fluorescein Angiography (FA), and Indocyanine Green Angiography (ICG) using Heidelberg Spectralis and Optos systems to capture high-quality fundus photography and ultra-widefield retinal imaging. Prepare patients for procedures, administer fluorescein or indocyanine green dye via venipuncture, and monitor for adverse reactions. Review images for quality before physician interpretation, archive diagnostic studies, and troubleshoot imaging equipment while adhering to infection prevention and HIPAA policies. This traveling role requires regular travel between OCLI Vision locations in New York, including Astoria, Bushwick, and Richmond Hill, with a flexible schedule that may include late evenings and Saturdays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn and operate specialized ophthalmic imaging equipment
- Ability to consistently capture clear, accurate, diagnostic-quality images
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication and patient-service skills
- Ability to explain procedures clearly and help patients feel comfortable throughout testing
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, and office leadership
- Willingness and ability to travel regularly between assigned OCLI Vision locations
- Must be willing and able to travel as needed to Astoria, Bushwick, East Setauket, Garden City, Huntington, Manhasset, Mineola, Oceanside, Patchogue, and Richmond Hill
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Schedule may include late evenings and Saturdays
Desired Qualifications
- Previous ophthalmology, retina, ophthalmic photography, or diagnostic imaging experience
- Experience with Heidelberg Spectralis and/or Optos imaging systems
- Experience performing OCT, FA, ICG, fundus photography, or other retinal diagnostic imaging
- Previous experience supporting Retina Specialists
- Venipuncture experience
- Ophthalmic certification such as CRA, COA, COT, OCT-C, or another relevant certification
- Knowledge of ocular pharmacology, including anesthetics, steroids, antibiotics, mydriatics, cycloplegics, epinephrine, miotics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications
