Retention Coach

Job Summary

Conduct bi-monthly one-on-one meetings with employed clients to assess needs, address barriers, and reinforce training lessons while building trust to reach personal and professional goals. Utilize outreach tactics and retention incentives to ensure clients remain engaged after moving out of Atlanta Mission, assisting with non-work-related issues by referring them to available resources. Maintain internal processing databases and Salesforce records to document work activity and client progress, collaborating with transitional housing managers to ensure program compliance. Facilitate vocational classes pertaining to retention as assigned and engage with the Next Steps team in weekly meetings. Hold responsibility for client job retention for at least one year while traveling to various locations and client work sites as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience working with economically disadvantaged adult populations, ideally in a coaching capacity
  • Knowledge of how to refer clients to resources: financial, counseling, food banks, housing
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to organize, multitask and prioritize a heavy workload to ensure client's needs are met in a timely manner
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to have flexible, unconventional hours to meet clients where they are and accommodate work schedules
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization, preferred
  • High energy and ability to engage others towards a common goal
  • Strong work ethic and business acumen with ability to excel in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
  • Skilled in personal coaching on a one-on-one and group setting
  • Analytical thinker adept in systems and processes
  • Demonstrated work history of resourcefulness and problem solving
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Must have the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing, sitting and/or walking)
  • Must have the ability to constantly operate a computer and other office equipment
  • Must be able to communicate accurate information
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 35lbs
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions during events
  • Moderate noise as in a business office environment
  • Travel to various locations in the city and to clients' work locations, as needed
  • Must have a valid GA driver's license
  • Access to a daily vehicle is preferred
