Job Summary
Conduct accurate translation and interpretation of documents and oral conversations regarding Registration, Refugee Status Determination, Resettlement, and Community Services for UNHCR in Thailand. Interpret during asylum seeker interviews, protection sessions, and briefings, including telephone inquiries from callers. Report call details to the supervisor for database recording and progress tracking. Perform additional translation and interpretation functions as requested by supervisors. Work remotely starting October 1, 2026, with a target start date of September 6, 2026.
Required Qualifications
- Proven skills in communicating proficiently from the assigned language to English and vice versa
- Accurate listening, speaking, reading and writing
- Reporting in both languages in a verbatim and efficient manner
- Professional conduct and ethics
- 1 year relevant experience
- High School Diploma
- Bachelor or equivalent or higher
- Knowledge of Khmer
- Knowledge of English
- IT-Computer Literacy
- Business Administration Secretarial
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in interpretation/translation
