Job Summary
Retail Trainee at Goodwill Gulf Coast supporting across retail operations, donation intake, merchandise processing, and customer service. Trains in core areas including donation intake, sales floor maintenance, and merchandise processing; emphasizes greeting customers promptly, assisting with donations, sorting and pricing merchandise, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and assisting customers with forms and stocking as needed. This temporary role focuses on developing skills in donor/customer service, merchandise handling, and store operations, with potential for conversion based on performance and fit.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to interact cordially and productively with a variety of people.
- Must be able to market Goodwill and explain the mission to the general public.
- Must be able to take initiative and work well with little supervision.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Must be able to distinguish between better name brand merchandise.
- High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- Prior work experience in the service industry preferred.
