Job Summary
Open and close the store, completing daily operations and assisting with unloading, organizing, and transferring merchandise from delivery trucks. Maintain product rotation, proper food handling, and store conditions while providing exceptional customer service and building sales. Handle cash transactions including bank deposits, register setup, and counting down registers. Supervise sales associates, develop leadership skills, and aid in training the team. This role requires 1-2 years of retail experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and operation of power equipment like forklifts. Candidates must be 18+, hold a high school diploma, and pass pre-employment checks. Flexible full-time schedules include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with occasional non-working hour alarm calls.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years of retail experience with progressively increasing responsibility
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting above shoulder height
- Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Ability to safely operate power equipment, such as slicing equipment, walkie lifts and forklifts where applicable
- Minimum of 18 years old
- High School Diploma / Equivalent
- Successfully pass our pre-employment checks, including a drug screen and criminal background check
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to occasionally respond to alarm calls during non-working hours
- Flexibility to work shifts at other stores in your local geographic area
- Letter of support from their management if they work for a Gordon Food Service customer
