Retail Store Manager

Job Summary
Lead the day-to-day operations of The General Store at a luxury hotel property in Barbados, delivering an elevated retail experience through product curation, visual merchandising, and guest engagement. Drive sales through strategic selling, upselling, and strong product storytelling; maintain a luxury retail environment; oversee inventory management, cash handling, and operational standards; train and coach staff to deliver exceptional service; ensure compliance with health and safety standards; collaborate on budgeting, pricing, and achieving sales targets. Requires 3–5 years of retail operations experience with supervisory responsibilities and a degree or diploma in a related field is an asset. Role is based at Crane, St. Philip, Barbados with in-person work arrangement.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in retail operations, preferably within luxury, boutique, lifestyle, or hospitality retail environments with at least 2 years in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Experience managing inventory systems, stock control, and sales performance.
- Strong visual merchandising skills with a keen eye for detail, presentation, and styling.
- Experience working with premium or high-end products (e.g. fashion, home goods, specialty foods, wellness, or lifestyle brands).
- Ability to curate product assortments and create appealing product pairings.
- Proven ability to deliver elevated customer experiences and build rapport with a discerning clientele.
- Strong understanding of retail POS systems and inventory management software (Micros experience is an asset).
- Proven ability to lead teams, drive sales, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Understanding of all Microsoft Office, Micros Sales Systems, Check SCM and additional software as needed
- Ability to prioritize, organize, and follow up on work tasks.
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
- Perform work tasks with minimal supervision.
- Maintain accurate purchase and pricing records
- A degree or diploma in Retail Management, Business, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field is an asset
