Job Summary
Support retail and wholesale platform underwriting by providing guidance on GSE guidelines, income requirements, and scenario questions to originators and processors. Maintain a loan pipeline for final approval under delegated authority, review all appraisal types for final approval, and issue NOV's and HFS/USDA conditional requirements. Respond to management regarding QC/QA exceptions and attend refresher training for investor guidelines. Perform additional duties as assigned while ensuring quality compliance. Requires five years of underwriting experience in FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA, and VA loans, plus FHA DE and VA SAR certifications.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5 years In underwriting FNMA/FHLMC, FHA, USDA and VA loans
- FHA DE certification
- VA SAR and certification
- Experience in underwriting FNMA/FHLMC/FHA/VA / USDA Rural Housing investor loans
- Documented experience in mortgage loan underwriting
- General understanding and knowledge of underwriting and compliance guidelines
- Working knowledge and experience with DeskTop Underwriter System
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong communication skills
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and other PC applications
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse requiring hand and wrist manipulation, while viewing computer screens
