Retail Staff/ Donation Attendant

Job Summary
Greet customers, operate the point-of-sale system, and answer basic questions about store operations, donations, and pricing. Sort, inspect, and process donated items while cleaning, tagging, pricing, and preparing merchandise for sale. Organize inventory by category, restock shelves, and maintain a clutter-free sales floor and donation areas. Perform general housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming. Assist consumers who work or volunteer in the thrift store and model appropriate workplace behavior. This role supports the organization's mission by ensuring a positive experience for customers, donors, and program participants.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to communicate with individuals with disabilities
- Physical ability to assist clients and use assistive devices
- Successful completion of a Caregiver Background Check
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Ability to lift and move items up to approximately 25–40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sorting, pricing, and stocking merchandise
Desired Qualifications
- Previous retail or customer service experience is helpful but not required
