Job Summary
Develop and execute sourcing strategies across a diverse retail portfolio generating $100M in annual revenue, optimizing range, pricing, and supplier performance. Monitor commercial data to provide insights supporting decision-making and profitable growth while negotiating agreements with stakeholders. Manage pricing, contracts, and governance processes to maximize profitability and mitigate risk. Collaborate cross-functionally with retail, operations, supply chain, finance, and legal partners to drive sales growth and enhance customer experience. Ensure all activities comply with procurement policies, ethical standards, and safety expectations. This national role requires occasional interstate travel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in retail sourcing, buying, merchandising, procurement, FMCG, convenience, grocery or a similar commercial retail environment
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing category or sourcing strategies
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales, margin, pricing, inventory and supplier performance data
- Experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing supplier relationships
- Proven ability to identify cost savings, margin improvement and growth opportunities
- Experience working cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, finance, commercial and supplier partners
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant retail, procurement or reporting systems
- This is a national role with occasional interstate travel required
Desired Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Procurement, Supply Chain, Retail Management, Marketing or a related discipline
- Professional training or certification in procurement, sourcing, negotiation, project management or data analytics
- Experience within FMCG, convenience, vending or multi-site retail operations
