Retail Security Officer

Job Summary
Provide security detail per post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement and fire departments. Patrol buildings and perimeters, control entrances and movement of pedestrians and vehicles, escort materials and personnel, inspect security and fire exposures, and perform special assignments. Maintain a professional image with courteous customer service; greet customers and employees; stay informed of post-order revisions; report suspicious activity and incidents; monitor cameras and emergency procedures; complete Daily Activity Reports and incident reports; contribute to safety and loss-prevention improvements; know life-safety systems and related equipment; coordinate with Security Supervisor on issues. This role requires punctuality, reliability, teamwork, and the ability to adapt duties based on department size, location, and post orders.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to patrol and monitor security per post orders
- Strong customer service skills
- Experience or ability to operate and understand CCTV and life safety systems
- Good written communication for incident reports
- Ability to coordinate with security supervisor and local authorities
- Professional appearance and reliability
