Retail Security Officer

Job Summary
Provide security detail per post orders, including control of entrances and movement of traffic, patrol of buildings and perimeters, and escort of material and personnel. Maintain professional image and strong customer service, monitor surveillance equipment, report incidents, and stay updated on post orders. Ability to respond to emergencies, understand life-safety systems, and assist with loss prevention while coordinating with security leadership, law enforcement, and customers. This role demands punctuality, teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to policies across various post assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Duties may vary depending on department size, organizational structure, geographic location and post assignments.
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform.
- Maintain professional image that includes greeting customers, visitors and employees in a polite and friendly manner.
- Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position, being diligent to report any suspicious activity and investigate accidents and criminal acts.
- Monitor cameras or equipment as outlined in post orders.
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports and all relevant reports.
- Knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV systems, and related equipment.
- Communicate with Security Supervisor about new issues or changes.
- Duties may be assigned or modified by management.
