Job Summary
Retail Security Officer responsible for controlling entrances, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting material and personnel, monitoring cameras and emergency procedures, reporting incidents, maintaining professional appearance and greeting customers, and upholding loss prevention and safety standards. Requires vigilance, strong customer service, ability to follow post orders, knowledge of life-safety systems and reports, and effective communication within a security team.
Required Qualifications
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform
- Maintain professional image that includes greeting customers, visitors and employees in a polite and friendly manner
- Patrol physical property or maintain fixed post position
- Monitor cameras or equipment in a continuous fashion
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Log Book entries, Incident Reports
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to be a hands-on, results oriented employee
- Ability to facilitate progressive change, work as part of a team
- Strong oral and written communications skills
- Knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV system computer
- Know authorized contractor personnel responsible for maintenance
- Communicate on a daily basis with Security Supervisor about issues or changes
