Retail Security Officer

Provide security detail per post orders and maintain customer-facing professionalism. Duties include controlling entrances and movement of pedestrians and vehicles, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting materials and personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, handling special assignments, and maintaining awareness of surroundings. Responsibilities include being on time in full uniform, greeting customers and staff, staying updated on post orders, monitoring for suspicious activity, reporting incidents, maintaining and using security equipment (CCTV, life-safety systems, fire panels), completing Daily Activity Reports and incident logs, and recommending improvements for safety and loss prevention. Ability to respond to alarms and emergencies, coordinate with security supervisors, and comply with applicable policies and procedures is required. Strong customer service, communication, teamwork, and urgency in daily tasks are emphasized; role may vary by location and post orders. End-of-day tasks include documentation and coordination with management to ensure continuous safe operation of facilities.
