Security officers provide security detail as described in post orders, including controlling entrances and movement, patrolling buildings/perimeters, escorting materials/personnel, inspecting security systems and fire exposures, and completing required reports. Responsibilities include greeting customers courteously, staying up-to-date with post orders, monitoring cameras, responding to emergencies, and coordinating with security leadership and local authorities as needed. Qualifications emphasize strong customer service, vigilance, teamwork, effective communication, and adherence to safety procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Be on time and report to post in full uniform
- Maintain professional image and greet customers, visitors and employees
- Proactive in knowing revisions to post orders and general information
- Patrol property or maintain fixed post position; report suspicious activity and investigate incidents
- Monitor cameras or equipment as outlined in post orders
- Knowledge of emergency policies, procedures and regulations
- Complete Daily Activity Reports, Incident Reports and related reports
- Make recommendations on safety and loss prevention processes
- Knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV systems; operate elevators and access doors safely
- Ensure training and compliance guidelines are met as outlined by the customer/agency
