Retail Security Officer

Job Summary
Provide security detail and maintain professional image while performing duties such as controlling entrances, patrolling buildings and perimeters, escorting materials/personnel, inspecting security and fire exposures, and handling special assignments. Maintain awareness of surroundings, greet customers, monitor for suspicious activity, operate or monitor CCTV and life-safety systems, and complete required incident and activity reports. Knowledge of post orders, emergency procedures, and effective communication with customers and enforcement agencies is essential; duties may vary by post and location and may include ADA accommodations and collaboration with the Security Supervisor.
Required Qualifications

- Strong customer service skills
- Patrol and surveillance experience or aptitude
- Ability to monitor cameras and post orders
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and life safety systems
- Clear communication and report-writing abilities
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow directions
- Familiarity with loss prevention and security best practices
- Ability to greet customers and maintain a professional image
- Ability to adapt to varying post assignments and locations
- Diligence in documenting incidents and reporting to Security Supervisor
