Job Summary
Assist customers with product selection by leveraging knowledge to increase sales and educate shoppers on the best choices. Maintain and recover the selling floor to ensure all sizes, colors, and styles are available, while promoting events and merchandise assortments. Ensure fitting rooms are customer-ready by clearing brand-specific merchandise and returning items to the appropriate areas. Exhibit friendly customer service expectations and execute department initiatives to drive sales and exceed goals. Communicate with vendors, Customer Experience Managers, and Style Merchandise Managers regarding support for promotions. Adhere to safety policies and perform other customer-facing tasks as needed. This full-time role at Macy's Roosevelt requires working 30+ hours weekly and includes lifting up to 30 lbs. and standing for consecutive hours.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Possess strong merchandising skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers and all levels of management
- Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Able to use a calculator
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
- Ability to collaborate as a member of a team
- Demonstrate an energetic and positive attitude, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Possess vision and creativity
- Flexible with scheduling and available to work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays
- This position requires lifting, constant moving, standing, and reaching with arms and hands
- Involves standing for at least two consecutive hours
