Job Summary
Retail Sales Specialist in Huntsville, AL for a pool and spa retailer. Responsibilities include customer service and sales, greeting customers, assessing needs related to pool/spa care and equipment, recommending products, explaining dosage and safety basics, building repeat business through honest guidance, and operating POS systems. Develop product knowledge across pool/spa chemicals, water care fundamentals, filtration, pumps, heaters, and related accessories; stay current on promotions and safety requirements; escalate technical questions to senior staff when needed. Maintain safety protocols for chemical handling, PPE usage, and spill response; keep the sales floor clean, organized, and well-stocked; assist with inventory receiving and merchandising; support opening/closing procedures and seasonal preparation.
Required Qualifications
- Customer service or retail sales experience (specialty retail preferred)
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to learn and explain technical products clearly
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Comfort working around chemicals with proper training
- Ability to stand, lift (up to 50 lbs), and move product throughout the shift.
- Flexible for overtime and weekends; peak season may require up to six days/week.
