Job Summary
As a Retail Sales Associate for Columbia Sportswear Company, you will serve as a brand ambassador on the sales floor, delivering exceptional customer service, answering questions about product features and availability, and making product recommendations. You will support store leadership in visual merchandising, daily store operations, and cash register transactions (sales, returns, exchanges, loyalty connections). You will engage customers to identify needs, demonstrate merchandise, and ensure a positive in-store experience while contributing to store profitability through efficient product flow and inventory accuracy. The role emphasizes teamwork, brand values, and helping customers find the right apparel and gear across Columbia, Mountain Hardwear, Sorel, and prAna brands. The position requires willingness to work in a dynamic store environment, with flexible scheduling and a focus on customer satisfaction and store standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- 2 years or less experience in retail or related field
- Experience operating Inventory and POS systems
- Ability to perform cash register transactions accurately
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to stand and move in an active retail environment
- Willingness to work a flexible retail schedule
- Age 16 or older
