Job Summary
Greet pet parents, answer questions, and recommend merchandise, services, and live pets while ensuring a positive in-person, phone, register, and online experience. Prepare online orders for store pick-up and administer medications as directed by a veterinarian. Maintain total store cleanliness, face and fill products to meet sales floor standards, and stage new inventory to match planners. Provide direct care for store-owned pets by feeding, watering, and cleaning habitats, and take immediate action to transport sick or injured animals to a vet. Support weekly price changes, monthly promotions, and special events like adoption weekends. Work various store areas as required, including services, while adhering to all company policies and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception
- Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception
- Exposure to live animals and their handling is common
- Applicants must be over the age of 18 (except in Montana or where otherwise required by local or state law)
