Job Summary
Greet pet parents, answer questions, and sell merchandise, services, and live pets while ensuring a positive in-person, phone, register, and online experience. Prepare online orders for store pick-up, administer pet medications as directed by a veterinarian, and provide direct care including feeding, watering, and cleaning habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, crickets, and fish. Maintain total store cleanliness, stage new products, and support weekly price changes and monthly promotions. Transport sick or injured pets to the vet immediately when identified. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be over the age of 18
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception
- Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Associate must be able to handle exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with pet hair, moderate to high noise levels, and live animals
