Job Summary
Conduct needs-based assessments for existing customers and prospects to identify opportunities in everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, and small business financing. Deliver tailored financial advice and guidance on digital self-serve options while supporting customer transactions based on branch traffic. Proactively engage clients to grow BMO's business by generating appointments, building community relationships, and integrating marketing promotions into conversations. Manage credit recommendations for personal lending transactions including home financing in accordance with sound credit granting principles and bank policies. Apply the risk management framework to protect the bank's assets, maintain lending portfolio quality, and identify suspicious activity related to money laundering. Resolve issues from consumer credit audits and quality checks to ensure accurate data entry and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Work collaboratively within the branch and through various channels to achieve business objectives, maintaining current knowledge of the financial services marketplace and ethical industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Typically between 2 - 3 years of relevant experience
- post-secondary degree in related field of study
- Registration to sell investment products completed - as appropriate for the jurisdiction
- Appropriate lending qualifications and designations
- Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions
- Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products
- Experience in financial services
- Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role
- Confident and experienced in the use of social media, tablets, Smart phones, online tools, and applications
- A focus on results and the ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team-based environment
- Resourceful self-starter with courage and confidence to approach customers
- Readiness to collaborate and work in different capacities as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and connections with customers
