Job Summary
Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying needs, providing advice on financial solutions, and recommending tailored options for everyday banking, investments, lending, and small business. Proactively engages with existing and new customers to grow loyalty, generate appointments, and build relationships while offering guidance on digital self-serve options. Supports customer transactions based on traffic, completes needs assessments to identify opportunities, and makes credit recommendations for personal lending in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements. Follows through on risk and compliance processes, including consumer credit audits, quality checks, and reporting suspicious activity related to money laundering, to safeguard assets and maintain portfolio quality. Works collaboratively within the branch and through various channels to achieve business objectives, integrating marketing promotions into customer conversations. May work at multiple branches or through various channels based on market needs, with a schedule that may differ weekly in terms of days, hours, and shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Typically between 2 - 3 years of relevant experience
- post-secondary degree in related field of study
- Registration to sell investment products completed - as appropriate for the jurisdiction
- Appropriate lending qualifications and designations
- Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions
- Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products
- Experience in financial services
- Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role
- Confident and experienced in the use of social media, tablets, Smart phones, online tools, and applications
- A focus on results and the ability to thrive in a consultative sales and team-based environment
- Resourceful self-starter with courage and confidence to approach customers
- Readiness to collaborate and work in different capacities as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and connections with customers
