Retail Production Worker - Part Time

Job Summary
Sort and price donated goods, recognizing name brands and vintage items while adhering to established guidelines. Size and hang textiles, differentiate materials for proper container placement, and operate pump carts, stackers, and compactors to move and assemble containers. Receive donations, sort by category, and ensure safe operation of mechanical equipment while maintaining quality control and accuracy. Work inside with occasional outside tasks, meeting production goals and interacting with customers and trainees. Requires high school diploma, one year retail experience, and availability for weekends, holidays, and after-hours projects. Reports to the Salvage and Production Manager or Retail Store Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in retail operations
- Availability to work after-hours on special projects
- Availability to work weekends and some holidays
- Must be able to provide positive internal and external customer relations and to easily interact and work with individuals referred for training
- Demonstrate ability to think independently in supervisor's absence
- Meet production goals
- Demonstrate quality control and accuracy with sorting and pricing guidelines
- Follow 6S Checklist, procedures, signage, and layout

- Operate pump cart and stacker to move containers, totes, etc
- Assemble / Disassemble containers, gaylords, kit bins
- Make proper use of available space and materials
- Know the mechanical operation of the compactor
- Understand and demonstrate safe operation
- Medium work, occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or up to 25 pounds of lifting, frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing and repetitive movement
- Inside generally 100%, however, may include outside work on occasion
- Limited emotional effort. Work environment routine with periods of isolated high stress. Short deadlines requiring some overtime
