Job Summary
Maintain department standards for customer service, employee relations, cleanliness, sanitation, and profitability while ensuring products are available to customers in a timely basis. Generate a friendly atmosphere by greeting customers, addressing them by name, and assisting with items out of reach or heavy loads. Utilize product management software to minimize out-of-stocks, maintain correct item parameters, and ensure advertised and RDA items are priced and signed correctly. Assist store management with gross profit analysis, inventory verification, and replenishment orders while working with vendors to balance invoices. Monitor excess and obsolete inventory to reduce losses and ensure product placement for new items aligns with management directives.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent experience
- Over six months to one year of similar or related experience
- Must be physically able to exert up to 50 pounds of force (energy exerted) occasionally
- Vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
- Depth perception
- Color vision
- Field of vision
- Ability to solve practical problems; variety of variables with limited standardization; interpret instructions
- Ability to do arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
- Ability to interview to obtain basic information; guide people to provide basic direction; follow technical manuals and have increased contact with people
- Strong basic math skills necessary
