Job Summary
Develop and maintain analytical tools to inform pricing, acquisition, retention, and risk management decisions for Residential and Small Commercial customers. Deliver timely retail Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) insights, portfolio performance analysis, and financial projections to support daily operations and strategic initiatives. Manage, validate, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to produce actionable intelligence, while actively reconciling expected versus actual costs and volumes. Develop models to support portfolio monitoring and short-term risk mitigation, analyzing weather, demand, supply, and regulatory conditions to inform seasonal hedging strategies. Partner with Portfolio Management, Risk, and Commercial teams to translate complex quantitative analysis into clear business insights, preparing presentations for diverse stakeholder audiences. Provide analytical support for emerging opportunities, including mergers and acquisitions, new products, and customer growth strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Understanding of natural gas industry standards, market trends, emerging issues and regulatory requirements.
- Proven proficiency using Excel, Power BI, Python, and/ or SQL.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with various internal teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic fast-paced environment.

- Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and prioritization skills.

- Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, mathematics, statistics, data science or related fields.
- 3+ years of relevant experience within the wholesale or deregulated electricity industry.
- This position is based out of the BKV Office in Houston Texas.
- This role may work a hybrid schedule (3 days in office/2 days remote).
- Occasional travel (up to 20%) may be required.
- Primarily office-based with standard business hours; extended hours may be required depending on business needs.
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
- Ability to operate a computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience fetching, analyzing, and providing actionable insights from ISO data; ERCOT experience preferred.
