Job Summary
The Retail Pharmacy Technician II plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy at University Hospital. This position assists pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all pharmacy processes. Key Responsibilities include accurately preparing, labeling, and dispensing prescription medications under pharmacist supervision; providing exceptional customer service to patients, caregivers, and staff; processing prescription orders, including data entry and insurance adjudication; managing inventory, restocking medications, and monitoring for expired products; operating cash register and handling transactions in accordance with policies; maintaining compliance with state, federal, and IU Health regulations; and supporting workflow efficiency in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Indiana Pharmacy Technician license
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT)
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
