Job Summary
Assist pharmacists with preparing, filling, labeling, and dispensing prescription medications while processing electronic prescriptions and ensuring accuracy. Assemble, stock, label, and organize medications, monitor inventory levels, and maintain accurate records in compliance with Texas State Board of Pharmacy regulations and HIPAA. Assist patients and healthcare providers by answering routine questions, notifying patients when prescriptions are ready, and processing transactions. Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy by sanitizing work areas and following safety procedures. Complete administrative duties and provide operational support to Sugar Land and Bedford retail pharmacy locations. Availability to work evening or closing shifts is required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) in good standing.
- Working knowledge of pharmacy operations, medication handling, and inventory management practices.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and patient safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide outstanding customer service.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and electronic prescription systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Availability to work evening or closing shifts based on business needs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand movements required for prescription preparation and data entry.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Previous retail pharmacy experience.
- Experience with pharmacy inventory management systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
