Job Summary
Fill and process prescriptions under supervision while maintaining strict adherence to state and federal statutes. Assist with inventory control by ordering, stocking, and entering data, and prepare labels for prescription containers. Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while reporting medication errors to appropriate personnel. Maintain cleanliness of the pharmacy area and follow security and regulatory procedures including Quality Assurance Programs. Assist in training employees and handle multiple daily tasks such as answering phones and waiting on customers.
Required Qualifications
- Enrolled in accredited college of pharmacy and registered with State Pharmacy Board as an intern
- Must have the ability to do logical or scientific thinking to solve problems
- Must be able to compose original correspondence
- Must be able to follow technical manuals
- Must be able to have increased contact with people
- Must be able to interview counsel or advise people
- Must be able to evaluate technical data
- Must be able to do arithmetic calculations involving arithmetic, algebraic and geometric calculations
- Must be able to physically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Must be able to physically exert 10 pounds of force frequently
- Must be able to physically exert a negligible amount of force constantly
- Visual clarity of vision at distances of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet

- Is fully responsible for company assets including prescription inventory, third party accounts receivable, pharmacy computer and software, and pharmacy fixtures
- Has daily contact with pharmacy operations support staff and customers
- Has occasional contact with general public, and suppliers/vendors, community or trade/professional organizations and federal/state governmental or regulatory agencies
- Maintains the confidentiality of the customer's private medical information according to the HIPAA act
- Maintains the confidentiality of prescription drug pricing and costs
- Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a pre employment drug screen
