Job Summary
Prepare and dispense medications while following state and federal pharmacy laws, and design, recommend, and monitor patient-specific pharmacotherapy. Provide timely drug information to healthcare providers and counsel patients on prescriptions and medication-use education. Supervise pharmacy technicians, manage inventory purchasing and storage, and ensure continuity of care across acute and ambulatory settings. Participate in medication error reporting, attend staff meetings, and comply with all accreditation and regulatory requirements. Requires a current Oregon Pharmacist license or eligibility for reciprocity with three years retail experience. Full-time varying shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of pharmacokinetics
- Knowledge of drug utilization review
- Knowledge of drug distribution systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Board of Pharmacy Licensed Preceptor
- Immunization Certification within 18 months of hire
- Current Oregon Pharmacist license
- Eligible for reciprocity with 3 (three) years Retail experience
- Light to medium physical demand
- Ability to stand/sit for periods of time at computer terminal
- Computer skills
- Understanding of general pharmacy systems
- Ability to communicate with nursing staff and physicians orally, via phone and in writing when needed
- Ability to develop friendly and positive relationships with pharmacy staff other and hospital caregivers
