Job Summary
Dispense medications safely, accurately, and in accordance with federal, state, and organizational regulations while counseling patients on use, side effects, and adherence. Resolve insurance claim issues, including rejections and prior authorizations, and manage retail inventory through ordering, stock rotation, and shortage mitigation. Serve as a clinical resource for providers regarding therapeutic alternatives and support specialty workflows involving complex patient education and cold-chain logistics. Mentor pharmacy technicians and interns to support skill development and workflow efficiency. Ensure compliance with laws governing pseudoephedrine sales and immunization requirements. Requires a PharmD degree, active Oklahoma license, and BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (D.Ph.) degree
- At least one (1) year of experience as a pharmacist
- Licensure as a Pharmacist by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy
- Active Oklahoma Pharmacist License
- Ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Immunization Administration Certificate
- Ability to obtain Preceptor certification through the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within 18 months of hire
- Foundational knowledge of outpatient, retail, and/or specialty pharmacy practice
- Strong communication, empathy, and customer-service skills
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing systems, EMRs, technology platforms, and billing systems
- Ability to mentor and support pharmacy technicians and interns
- Basic understanding of specialty pharmacy workflows, access barriers, and patient-support programs
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to medication safety
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in fast-paced outpatient pharmacy environments
