Job Summary
Retail Parts Pro is a professional-level sales role specializing in DIY automotive parts with expert knowledge of store systems, parts sourcing (including special orders), and automotive diagnostics. Primary duties include facilitating the selling experience for DIY customers (in-person and phone), achieving personal and store sales goals, managing DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs), maintaining store appearance and safety, and serving as key holder with opening/closing duties. Secondary duties cover inventory processes (truck put-away, cycle counts, back stock), store cleanliness, and enabling DIY services with diagnostic/test equipment. Required skills include strong communication, ability to locate and stock parts, inventory systems operation, parts lookup, advanced selling skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Word/Excel; fluency in English with Spanish a plus. Must have a valid driver''s license; ASE certification is preferred but not required. 3-5 years of automotive parts experience is expected; familiarity with reading safety rules, operation manuals, parts catalogs, and basic math is needed; ability to work varied days/evenings/weekends. Knowledge of automotive systems (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust) and diagnostic ability is important for success.
