Job Summary
Retail Parts Pro is a professional-level sales role that supports advanced DIY automotive parts knowledge, including expert store systems knowledge and parts knowledge. The role involves advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, sourcing from multiple channels (including special orders and various suppliers), and maintaining inventory and store processes. Primary responsibilities include facilitating sales for DIY customers via in-person and phone interactions, achieving personal and store sales goals, managing DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installations), upholding customer service standards and store appearance, and performing key holder duties (task assignment, safety, opening/closing). Secondary responsibilities cover inventory processes (truck put-away, cycle counts, back stock), store cleanliness, and continuing DIY services. Essential skills include working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostics, English communication (Spanish a plus), ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents, competency with inventory and POS systems, parts lookup proficiency, and strong organizational and selling abilities. Education certificates/licenses include a valid driver’s license with ASE certification preferred. The compensation range is $18.85–$20.98 per hour, with benefits and opportunities described for team members.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- ASE certification preferred but not required
- 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Speak and write English; Spanish a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends
