Retail Operations Lead

Job Summary
Support and guide sales associates in merchandise handling, product knowledge training, and presentation standards while leading the team when other leaders are unavailable. Execute merchandise strategies including receiving product, seasonal displays, and promotional setups to optimize sales, then manage inventory levels through regular audits, trend analysis, and cycle counts. Oversee store opening and closing procedures, operate POS systems for cash transactions, and maintain compliance with company policies and codes of ethics. Ensure pet care standards are met by managing feeding, cleaning, and quarantine protocols for new arrivals and sick pets, while addressing associate complaints and grievances. Act as the primary point of contact for online order pickups and ship-from-store experiences to ensure a positive customer journey.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout
- Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc
- Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception
- Associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts
- Exposure to a wet environment with an abundance of pet hair
- Moderate noise level in the work environment
- Exposure to high levels of noise at times
- Exposure to live animals and their handling is common
- Applicants must be over the age of 18
