Job Summary
Execute merchandise strategies to optimize sales, manage inventory levels, and conduct regular audits. Support and guide sales associates through training, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching while delegating daily tasks. Oversee store opening and closing procedures, operate point-of-sale systems, and maintain accurate inventory records. Lead the team by directing associates, addressing grievances, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Manage pet care operations including feeding, cleaning, and transporting sick or injured pets to the vet. Ensure a positive experience for pet parents during online order pickups or ship-from-store transactions. Act as the store leader when other leaders are unavailable, supervising associates and assigning tasks.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout
- Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc. The associate frequently is required to reach with hands and arms: stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception
- Associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally team lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
