Job Summary
PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead drives operational excellence in stores, including merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, opening/closing, and overseeing associates to create a safe, engaging store experience. Responsibilities include leading sales associates, providing training and development, delegating daily tasks, acting as Leader on Duty, addressing associate complaints, ensuring merchandise strategies, inventory accuracy, regular audits, stock replenishment and markdown recommendations, operating POS systems, maintaining store standards and adherence to Policies and Procedures and Code of Ethics, and ensuring a positive experience for pet parents with online orders and in-store pickups. The role involves supervising and guiding associates, handling live animals safely, managing physical tasks such as live cycle counts, and promoting a customer-centric store environment. Requirements include 2+ years of retail supervisory experience, full-time availability (including evenings, weekends, and holidays), computer proficiency, strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure, and excellent organizational skills. Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout
- Supervisory responsibility
