Job Summary
Retail Operations Lead at PetSmart responsible for merchandising and inventory management, pet care operations, opening/closing, overseeing associates, and maintaining a safe, organized store. Leads and develops staff, trains and mentors teammates, delegates daily tasks, and ensures a positive customer experience. Key duties include merchandise strategy execution, inventory audits, POS/cash handling, maintaining store standards and ethical policies, coordinating live cycle counts, and ensuring pets in care are healthy and safe while supporting online orders and in-store pickup. Strong emphasis on leadership, communication, problem-solving, and adherence to policies; requires ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly (with occasional heavier lifts), plus exposure to pet-related environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years retail supervisory experience
- Full-time availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience supervising or guiding associates
