Job Summary
Retail Operations Lead responsible for driving operational excellence in PetSmart stores, including merchandising, inventory management, pet care operations, and opening/closing procedures. Leads and develops associates, provides training and coaching, ensures a positive pet parent experience with online order pickup and in-store services, and maintains store standards while adhering to company policies and ethical guidelines. Responsibilities include managing product receiving and placement, promotional setups, inventory audits, POS operations and cash handling, live cycle counts, and safeguarding pet health and safety. The role requires leadership in the absence of other leaders, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to manage customer-focused tasks, and a commitment to a safe, welcoming store environment for pets and customers.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; maintain visually appealing store layout
- Supervisory responsibility (no direct reports) and leadership when others are not in the store
