Job Summary
Retail Operations Lead at PetSmart with responsibility for merchandising and inventory management, pet care operations, and store leadership. Responsibilities include merchandising execution, receiving, product placement, promotional setups, inventory audits, live cycle counts, POS/cash handling, maintaining store standards and code of ethics, opening/closing duties, and supervising/mentoring associates. The role emphasizes leading the associate experience, training and coaching for growth, delegating daily tasks, and fostering a positive customer/pet parent experience. Requires 2+ years of retail supervisory experience, full-time availability (evenings/weekends/holidays), proficiency with computer applications, strong written and verbal communication, ability to work under pressure, excellent organizational skills, physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds (and up to 100+ pounds team lift), and comfort with animals. Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment
- Full-time availability required, flexibility in schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly in maintaining a visually appealing store layout
- Supervisory responsibility
- No direct reports, however, are expected to guide and support the development of other associates
- Acts as the Leader when other Leaders are not in the store. This includes supervising associates, assigning tasks and addressing any concerns
- Essential physical demands and worn environment
- Associate required to stand, walk, climb a ladder, and use hands to handle, feel, hold, write, etc.
