Job Summary
PetSmart’s Retail Operations Lead is responsible for merchandising and inventory management, pet care operations, and store leadership duties including opening/closing, supervising associates, training and mentoring, and ensuring a safe, engaging customer experience. The role emphasizes driving operational excellence, overseeing merchandise presentation, executing inventory controls (audits, cycle counts, stock replenishment, markdowns), operating POS and cash handling, maintaining store standards and ethics compliance, and supporting pet care from arrival to sale with a strong focus on associate development and a positive customer/pet-parent experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail supervisory experience
- Full-time availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Supervisory responsibility (leadership when other Leaders are not in the store)
