Job Summary
Retail Manager supervises one or more of the Sales Departments within the Bass Pro Shops store, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff selection and development, and customer service activities. Ensures world-class customer service and meets or exceeds financial plans. Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, obtaining Manager on Duty, maintaining planograms, staffing departments with service-oriented associates, coordinating training, performance appraisals, merit/promotional increases, schedules, coaching, and resolving customer/associate issues. Requires strong analytical and communication skills, ability to interpret financial/technical information, and proficiency with PC-based tools and POS/inventory systems. Travel is not applicable; emphasizes independent judgment within company policies and a collaborative, team-oriented management approach. Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in Retail Management
- Responsibility for one or more Sales Departments
- Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and electronic point of sale and inventory management systems
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to read and analyze reports
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence
- Ability to conduct meetings and presentations to groups
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated use of Team concept of Management
