Job Summary
Retail Licensed Optician assists customers with frame and lens selection, fits and dispenses frames, interprets prescriptions to recommend optical products, and communicates with Lab and Optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy. Uses the SERVE sales process to identify customer needs, provides insurance benefits information, maintains a compliant dispensing area, ensures HIPAA/privacy adherence, and participates in ongoing training to support customer service and product knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing
- Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, the analysis and interpretation of optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information to customers and associates
