Job Summary
Retail Lending Officer handles personal credit granting, analyzes loan viability and risk, and recommends lending solutions. The role promotes the full range of credit union products and services through advice-based sales, manages member relationships to maintain profitability, processes credit applications, communicates terms and conditions, ensures compliance with policies, collaborates with loans processing to ensure timely documentation, maintains delinquency controls, and participates in business development and community relations efforts. The position requires understanding of credit policies, risk management, and strong customer-service skills to identify and act on sales opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Grade 12 diploma
- Diploma/Certificate from a recognized post-secondary institution with focus on business or finance or equivalent
- Previous customer service and/or sales experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
- Ability to identify and act upon sales and service opportunities
- Knowledge of Access Credit Union’s products and services
- Knowledge of risk management within the financial industry
- Proficient computer skills
- Understanding and adherence to relevant policies and procedures (Privacy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing Act, Credit Union Act and Credit Union Loan Policies)
