Job Summary
Retail Innovation Challenge Research Assistant supports outreach to attract student teams, maintain the BSRM RIC contact database, assist in writing the case study, and help collect and summarize data across the competition phases (Oct 6–Oct 31). Responsibilities include leveraging networks to recruit teams, maintaining university contacts data, drafting case materials, data collection and synthesis to populate the dataset, and assisting in ensuring smooth execution of all three competition phases, including virtual judging and live final events. The role emphasizes client-focused service, autonomy, teamwork, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in English and French; prior exposure to analytics, finance, and retail-focused studies is beneficial, with the work location at Bronfman Building, Montreal, QC, Canada. Deadline and contractual details are governed by the AMURE collective agreement and McGill equity programs.
Required Qualifications
- MMR, MBA, MMA students or U3+ of the McGill University BCom Degree program, with a concentration in Retail and preferably a focus on finance, analytics; strong critical thinking capabilities
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task; strong organizational skills, reliable, self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and with others in a team
- English (spoken and written), French (spoken and written) an asset
- authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec at the campus where the position is based
