Job Summary
Retail General Manager at Bass Pro Shops responsible for day-to-day store operations, merchandising, financial efficiency, inventory control, and customer service. Leads and develops store leadership, supervises management team, drives staffing, training, performance appraisals, scheduling, and adherence to merchandising directives and promotional strategies. Focused on achieving financial plans, asset control, and a positive, world-class customer experience while maintaining a safe, organized store environment. Requires extensive high-volume retail management experience, strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with POS and inventory systems.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5+ years in high volume, “big box” Retail Management, with multi-store experience desired.
- Experience in supervising multiple managers and staff
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages
- Ability to read and analyze reports
- Excellent interpersonal and team leadership skills
- Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, data-based management and POS/inventory systems
- Ability to interview, hire and train staff, plan and direct work, evaluate performance
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and store operations
- Experience with merchandising directives and promotional strategies
- Ability to monitor and improve store financial performance
- Ability to communicate effectively with corporate and field teams
