Job Summary
Greet guests with a smiling face, operate cash registers, and process payments using various card and gift card methods. Suggestively sell items, redeem coupons, and weigh produce while ensuring accurate pricing and change. Bag or box merchandise, assist with carry-outs, and monitor checkout stations for necessary supplies. Stock shelves, check price tags, and maintain a clean work area. Resolve guest complaints with courtesy, verify identification when required, and follow all safety regulations. Perform assigned inventory tasks and adhere to strict attendance and timeliness requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Must be over the age of 21
- Must maintain a valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit
- Must maintain a valid Food Handlers Permit (in some cases)
- Must be able to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos
- Must be able to communicate with and understand coworkers and guests
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals
- Must be able to calculate discounts and percentages
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Must be able to stand for most of shift
- Must be able to bend and walk occasionally
- Must be able to use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds regularly
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more occasionally
- Must be able to push and/or pull 50-100 pounds or more occasionally
- Must have close vision
- Must have depth perception
- Must have the ability to adjust focus
- Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday
- Must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week
- Must be able to work outside of scheduled time without District Manager approval is prohibited
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or a general education degree (GED)
- Cashiering experience
- Bilingual skills
- Previous experience in retail or customer service
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures
- Knowledge of basic math for cash transactions
- Strong communication skills, including phone etiquette
