Job Summary
The Retail Freight Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the receiving area operations and ensuring accurate, efficient freight flow from shipments to the sales floor according to established processing and merchandising standards. Duties include managing back stock, directing freight flow and dock/equipment maintenance, verifying incoming merchandise, setting up merchandise displays, processing outbound transfers, supervising other associates, and acting as Manager on Duty with opening/closing responsibilities. The role requires coordinating with vendors, ensuring safety and orderliness of the dock, and delivering strong customer/associate interactions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months experience with a mid- to large-size retailer
- Schedule flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a regular basis
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and delegate tasks while working within strict timeframes and deadlines
- Must have a positive attitude and the ability to interact well with customers and associates
